Ohio WC Terms: Disabled Workers’ Relief Fund (DWRF)

Disabled Workers' Relief Fund (DWRF)

The Disabled Workers' Relief Fund (DWRF) provides additional compensation to individuals who are receiving permanent total disability compensation when the amount of permanent total compensation falls below a certain amount. If the injured worker also receives Social Security disability, DWRF is paid when the amount of permanent total compensation plus the amount of Social Security disability falls below a certain amount. The DWRF payment raises the permanent total compensation paid to the individual to a minimum amount.

Qualified individuals should automatically receive DWRF compensation. There is no need to file an application. O.A.C. 4123-3-31 contains the proceedures used to calculate the DWRF payment.
