Founded by Stewart Jaffy, Stewart Jaffy & Associates traces its roots back to 1959 and has been representing injured workers and unions for over 50 years. Attorneys from Stewart Jaffy & Associates have experience representing injured workers at all levels of the workers' compensation system — both administratively, before the Ohio BWC and Ohio Industrial Commission, and in court.

In 2019,with the death of Stewart Jaffy, leadership of the firm passed to William Thorman, who has continued the firm's long tradition of representing injured workers and people with disabilities. A 1988 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Law, Thorman has served as a Legal Aid lawyer, an Assistant Attorney General and a long-time attorney and representative for those injured in the workplace.
