Ohio WC Terms: Maximum Medical Improvement (MMI)

Maximum Medical Improvement (MMI)

O.A.C. 4121-3-32(A)(1) defines maximum medical improvement as “a treatment plateau”, which occurs when no further change in the condition is expected from continued treatment. When an injured worker’s condition reaches maximum medical improvement (MMI), temporary total payments are terminated. See our case index for summaries of maximum medical improvement decisions by Ohio courts, with links to the cases.
