BWC to Reduce Customer Service Offices
The BWC announced a plan to reduce the number of customer service offices from 21 to 14. The plan will make the following changes to the current customer service office structure:
- the BWC will combine the Columbus North and Columbus South offices;
- the BWC will combine the Akron and Canton offices and locate the combined office in Canton;
- the BWC will combine the Cleveland, Independence, and Richmond Heights offices;
- the BWC will combine the Warren and Youngstown offices and locate the combined office in Youngstown;
- the BWC will combine the Bridgeport and Zanesville offices and locate the combined office in Cambridge;
- the BWC will combine the Cincinnati and Governor’s Hill offices and locate the combined office in Governor’s Hill.
All other Customer Service Offices will remain unchanged under the plan.
Note: This does not affect the Industrial Commission offices.
Editor’s Comment: While BWC claims all its offices are not needed because it has made so many technology changes, one has to wonder why the BWC did not discuss the downsizing with its customers and seek their opinions.
What does an injured worker do when they are not high tech and do not have a representative? What happens with all the information in the old “paper” files which have not been imaged? If you need to review one of the old paper files how many extra miles will be involved?
