Disabled Workers' Relief Fund
The Disabled Workers' Relief Fund (DWRF) provides additional
compensation to some individuals who are receiving permanent total
disability compensation. DWRF is paid when the amount of permanent
total compensation is below a certain amount. [If the injured worker is
also receiving Social Security disability, DWRF is paid when the
amount of permanent total compensation plus the amount of Social
Security disability is below a certain amount. Our Social Security Disability Guide provides information about permanent total and social security disability.] The DWRF payment raises the compensation paid to the individual to a
minimum amount.DWRF compensation is supposed to be paid automatically to qualified individuals. There is no need to file an application. Ohio Administrative Code section 4123-3-31 contains the proceedures used to calculate the DWRF payment.
