Statute of Limitations

The statute of limitations is a legal term which refers to a time limit. A Workers' Compensation claim (or any legal claim) must be filed within a certain time limit. If a claim is not filed within the time limit it will be forever barred.

Because the issue of time limits is important and potentially confusing, if you have a specific question about the time limits for filing a claim, you should contact an attorney.

Other information:

  • Court: Two Year Notice Requirement Does Not Apply to Claims for Residual Conditions. (July, 1999)

  • Court: Ohio Supreme Court clarifies time limit for filing claim for a psychiatric flow-through condition. (August, 1997)
