Disabled
Workers' Relief Fund
The Disabled Workers' Relief Fund (D.W.R.F or
DWRF) provides additional compensation to some individuals who are
receiving permanent total disability
compensation. D.W.R.F. is paid when the amount of permanent total
compensation is below a certain amount. [If the injured worker is also
receiving Social Security disability, D.W.R.F. is paid when the amount
of permanent total compensation plus the amount of Social Security
disability is below a certain amount. Click
here for information about permanent total and social security
disability.] The D.W.R.F. payment raises the compensation paid to the
individual to a minimum amount.
D.W.R.F. compensation is supposed to be paid
automatically to qualified individuals. There is no application. Ohio
Administrative Code provision 4123-3-31 contains the proceedures used
to calculate the D.W.R.F. payment.
